This is my map of Israel showing the journeys of Samson during his life time. The map is based on an aerial view of the country, about 53 km above the surface, looking from the South towards the North. I have applied perspective to the map, so the land appears to shrink away from the viewer & gets smaller towards the North. I decided to use similar colours to represent height above sea level (& below it, in the case of the Jordan/Arabah valley!) that I have used in other maps. I have also added brown terrain lines to try to indicate mountains & hills, upland areas, slopes, etc.

The lines are colour coded into 4 main periods of Samson’s 20 year reign as Israel’s Judge.
01 Early life and marriage.
02 Revenge against the Philistines.
03 Samson’s miraculous journey carrying the gates of Gaza to the hill overlooking Hebron.
04 Delilah and Samson’s death and burial.

Date
The period of the Judges was from about 1,380 B.C. to about 1,045 B.C. Samson was a Judge from 1,154 B.C. to 1,124 B.C.

Notice the figures on the border of the map.
If you look carefully at the map border you will see I have included some little black and white figures, just for fun! I drew the lion, Ostrich, Golden Jackal & Boat specifically for the Samson maps.
