This is my map of Israel showing the last journeys of Samson from his fateful encounter with Delilah in her home in the Valley of Sorek to Gaza, where he was imprisoned by the Philistines. In their temple, Samson famously pushed the central support pillars apart & died amongst his taunting Philistine enemies. His brothers & family later recovered his body & interred it in the tomb of Samson’s father Manoah, in Mahaneh-dan.
I decided to use similar colours to represent height above sea level (& below it, in the case of the Jordan/Arabah valley!) that I have used in other maps. I have also added brown terrain lines to try to indicate mountains & hills, upland areas, slopes, etc.
Date
The period of the Judges was from about 1,380 B.C. to about 1,045 B.C. Samson was a Judge from 1,154 B.C. to 1,124 B.C.
Notice the figures on the border of the map.
If you look carefully at the map border you will see I have included some little black and white figures, just for fun! I drew the lion, Ostrich, Golden Jackal & Boat specifically for the Samson maps.
