Psalms 23:4 (ANIV)
Even though I walk
through the valley of the shadow of death [1],
I will fear no evil,
for you are with me;
your rod and your staff,
they comfort me.
[1] or, through the darkest valley.

RESEARCH/ADDITIONAL NOTES:
Psalm 23 is an example of a Psalm of Confidence, which expresses trust in God’s care for & leadership of his people.
There are three versions of this scene:
01) (Previous page) Psalm 23 – Scene 02 – Valley of death (Skulls version 01). This one was king David & the Lord (the glowing figure) walking through a valley made of various skulls & bones.
02) (Previous page) Psalm 23 – Scene 02 – Valley of death (Skulls version 02). This one was king David without the Lord (the glowing figure) walking through a valley made of various skulls & bones.
03) (This page) Psalm 23 – Scene 02 – Valley of death (Death shadow version). This one was king David walking through a valley with the hedge, trees etc forming a skull shadow across the path he is walking on.
This 3rd version of the scene uses the sun’s rays, coming through the trees (& modified by the intervening branches, rocks, etc) to form a skull-like shape on the grass of the valley which King David (the Psalmist) is walking through.
Here’s the scene without the figure in the foreground.
