1 [A psalm of David.]

The Lord is my shepherd,

RESEARCH/ADDITIONAL NOTES:
Psalm 23 is an example of a Psalm of Confidence, which expresses trust in God’s care for & leadership of his people.

This is my literal interpretation of the Psalmist king David lying in green pastures/meadows, by quiet waters.

The tall pick/purple plant in the foreground is Alcea setosa (aka Bristly hollyhock), which flowers in Israel in April to the beginning of June, and grows to a height of 6.5-9.8 feet (2-3 metres). The leaves, the inflorescence (flower) stalk and the fruits are characterized by bristly hairs on their surfaces. The plant can be found in the following habitats: The Mediterranean Woodlands and Shrublands, Semi-steppe shrublands.
