Matthew 25:46 (NLT)
[Jesus said] “And they [the unrighteous, cursed ones] will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous will go into eternal life.”

DRAWING NOTES:

TIME OF DAY:
Unspecified in Bible.

LIGHTING NOTES:
The Son of Man (Jesus the Christ) provides the light that illuminates all the figures in this scene.
There is a second source of warm light from the fires of hell at the bottom of the scene.

CHARACTERS PRESENT:
The figure ascending into heaven (towards the top of the page) is Jesus, the Son of Man, in all his glory.
Angels surround the ascending Jesus.
On the rocky pathway that leads up to heaven are the righteous believers (the “sheep”).
Falling into the eternal flames of hell are the unrighteous, unbelievers (the “goats”).

RESEARCH/ADDITIONAL NOTES:
This is the final scene in this the end of Matthew chapter 25. In it, Jesus & the angels with him are ascending into heaven.

Verse 41 (see previous scene) informs us that Jesus will say to the unrepentant unbelievers, “Away with you, you cursed ones, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his demons”. That is the fate of all who do not listen to the good news of the gospel of Jesus. By their own choice (of rejecting the salvation offered by king Jesus), such people will be eternally separated from the Lord God; that place we call hell.

On the other hand, all people who have accepted the free gift of salvation offered to all humanity by Jesus, will be destined to rise up & be with Him. That is represented in my Bible Cartoon by the people walking up the rocky road towards the top of the scene, disappearing into the bright light of heaven.
