Mark 5:30-31 (NLT)
30 Jesus realized at once that healing power had gone out from him, so he turned around in the crowd and asked, “Who touched my clothes?”
31 His disciples said to him, “All this crowd is pressing around you. How can you ask, `Who touched me?’ “
DRAWING NOTES:
TIME OF DAY:
Unspecified in the Bible narrative. I have set this scene in the mid morning, just after the previous scenes.
LIGHTING NOTES:
The sun (unseen, high on the right) illuminates this scene, casting shadows left & below figures & objects.
CHARACTERS PRESENT:
In the centre of the scene stands Jesus (with outer blue robe), with John (son of Zebedee) on his right (viewers left) & James (son of Zebedee) on his left (viewers right). Various people standing close to Jesus. We can not see the woman who suffered from hemorrhage (bleeding).
RESEARCH/ADDITIONAL NOTES:
This scene follows on immediately from the previous one. Here we see Jesus turning around & looking for who touched his clothes. James & John are asking “All this crowd is pressing around you. How can you ask, `Who touched me?’ “
As with the previous scenes, I have shown the shoreline covered with rounded Basalt rocks, which is a heavy, dark stone, rounded by the wave action of the sea of Galillee.
Here’s the scene without the figures in the foreground.
