Mark 5:27-29 (NLT)
27 She [the woman who suffered from hemorrhage (bleeding)] had heard about Jesus, so she came up behind him through the crowd and touched the fringe of his robe. 28 For she thought to herself, “If I can just touch his clothing, I will be healed.” Immediately the bleeding stopped, and she could feel that she had been healed!
DRAWING NOTES:
TIME OF DAY:
Unspecified in the Bible narrative. I have set this scene in the mid morning, just after the previous scene.
LIGHTING NOTES:
The sun (unseen, high on the right) illuminates this scene, casting shadows left & below figures & objects.
CHARACTERS PRESENT:
The woman suffering from a hemorrhage (bleeding) for twelve years can be seen kneeling down & reaching out towards Jesus’ robe. Various people standing close to Jesus.
RESEARCH/ADDITIONAL NOTES:
This scene follows on immediately from the previous one. Here we see a close-up of the suffering woman, kneeling down on the dark Basalt rocks of the shoreline, fearfully reaching out towards the blue outer robe of Jesus.
As with the previous scenes, I have shown the shoreline covered with rounded Basalt rocks, which is a heavy, dark stone, rounded by the wave action of the sea of Galillee.
Here’s the scene without the figures in the foreground.
