DRAWING NOTES:
TIME OF DAY:
Unspecified I the Bible text. I have set this scene in the afternoon, a few moments after the previous scene.
LIGHTING NOTES:
The sun (high in the sky) illuminates this scene, casting vague shadows below & to the right of figures & objects.
CHARACTERS PRESENT:
From right to left: the prison warden, Joseph, Potiphar, two prison guards.
RESEARCH/ADDITIONAL NOTES:
This scene occurs a few moments after the previous one, but the point of view is different. We are viewing the scene from inside the entrance to the prison, looking out towards the courtyard (seen from above in the previous scene). Potiphar is standing, arms folded, in the doorway of the prison entrance, still looking cross.
The dark skinned Egyptian man leading the rope-bound Joseph into the dark prison building is the prison warden.
Notice the rats on the floor!
Here’s the scene without the figures in the foreground.
