I’ve been busy over the last two weeks drawing black & white, pen & ink drawings for two different Bible stories: Mark 02 – Jesus heals a paralytic & Joshua 05-06 – The fall of Jericho.
Mark 02 – Jesus heals a paralytic.
This is a well known story, where Jesus is surrounded by such a tightly-packed crowd of people that 4 men can’t get their paralysed friend to see him. So, rather inventively, they go up onto the roof of the house Jesus is in, & dig a whole through it, to lower the man right down in front of Jesus. Their faith that Jesus can heal their paralysed friend is very moving… & raises the question, do we have enough faith, here & today, in Jesus Christ to do the impossible, be that healing, or whatever?
Anyway, here’s the black & white, pen & ink drawings. I’m hoping to add colour soon.

Joshua 05-06 – The fall of Jericho.
This sequence of scenes is from the Old Testament book of Joshua. Again, it is about faith – does Joshua have enough faith to trust what he has been told to do – to walk around the fortress of Jericho (probably the most impregnable citadel in Canaan) & blow trumpets to knock down its walls! As it happens, he did have enough faith to do that & the walls did fall down… one up for faith!
