1 Corinthians 1:21 - faith IN God is a gift FROM God

1 Corinthians 1:21 (NLT) says, ‘Since God in his wisdom saw to it that the world would never know him through human wisdom, he has used our foolish preaching to save those who believe.’

This seems to imply that no amount of clever human reasoning, or rational thought, will illuminate any little bit of faith in God. In fact, faith IN God is a gift FROM God. We can not know God by any humanly produced wisdom. That seems obvious to me, as we (& our brains!) are included & confined WITHIN the cosmos, but God is outside that universe. Our human wisdom can not think that far! But praise the Lord, He has gifted each one of us, if we so desire it, to have faith to “see” & know Him, despite the great distances involved. In fact, even though God is outside the universe, He is also as close as our own hearts. God dwells within each of our cells. He is both THAT far away (transcendent) & THAT close (immanent) – amazing!
