Bible Reference & Cartoon Description

5 But he [Pharaoh] fell asleep again and had a second dream. This time he saw seven heads of grain, plump and beautiful, growing on a single stalk.

DRAWING NOTES:

TIME OF DAY:
Night.

LIGHTING NOTES:
This scene occurs in Pharaoh’s bedroom, it would have been very dark, but I have used light from above to illuminate this scene.

CHARACTERS PRESENT:
Pharaoh, the king of Egypt at the time of Joseph.

RESEARCH/ADDITIONAL NOTES:
This is my interpretation of Pharaoh’s second dream of 7 heads of grain, plump and beautiful, growing on a single stalk, which are growing taller than the other crops. As in the previous scene I have illustrated a “thought bubble” to represent the scene Pharaoh is dreaming about and have included Pharaoh himself in his dream, standing on the river bank, admiring the healthy crops.

Bible Doctrine Notes
41:1-32 GOD, EVIL AND SUFFERING, Providence (2.33B)

God can use what we humans consider a disaster to achieve His divine purposes. In the example of Genesis chp 41, God provided a way for people to survive the 7 year long famine which also included elevating Joseph from prisoner to 2nd in command of the nation of Egypt. What may appear to be evil in the short term may turn out to be God’s leadership for the good of many people in the long term. See notes on Gen 45:4-11, 50:20.
